Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By using MSB IT's remote support services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Remote Support Services
MSB IT provides remote IT support for private clients and small businesses across South Africa. Services include:
- Remote diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Software installation and configuration
- Virus and malware removal
- Operating system support (Windows, Linux)
- Network and WiFi diagnostics
- Email and cloud service setup
- Simple website design for local businesses
Hardware repairs requiring physical intervention cannot be performed remotely and will require alternative arrangements.
3. Service Availability
Remote support is available during business hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (South African Standard Time). Support requests received outside these hours will be addressed on the next business day.
While I strive to respond quickly, I don't guarantee immediate response times for every request.
4. Pricing and Payment
- Rate: R300 per hour (or part thereof)
- Billing: 30-minute increments with no minimum — you only pay for time actually used
- Payment Method: EFT only
- Invoicing: You will receive an invoice via email after your remote session
- Payment Terms: Payment is due within 7 days of invoice date
Example: A 15-minute session is billed as 30 minutes (R150). A 45-minute session is billed as 1 hour (R300).
5. Remote Session Conduct
During remote support sessions:
- You will receive a secure, one-time connection link
- You will be able to see all actions performed on your computer
- You may disconnect the session at any time
- I will never ask for your passwords
- Sessions are not recorded without explicit consent
6. Client Responsibilities
As a client, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your technical issues
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection for remote sessions
- Have your computer powered on and accessible during scheduled sessions
- Back up important data before remote support sessions (recommended)
- Pay invoices promptly
7. Limitations of Liability
MSB IT provides remote support services on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While I take every precaution to protect your data and systems:
- I am not liable for any pre-existing data loss or corruption
- I recommend clients maintain their own backups
- I am not responsible for issues caused by third-party software or hardware failures
- My total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific support session
8. Cancellation and Refund Policy
- Cancellations: Just let me know — An hour's notice is appreciated, but life happens. We'll work it out.
- Refunds: If I can't fix your problem after a genuine attempt, you won't be left out of pocket. I'll either offer a partial refund or no charge — whatever feels fair.
9. Intellectual Property
All software, tools, and methodologies used by MSB IT remain my intellectual property. I do not claim ownership of your files or data. For website design projects, you own the final website files.
10. Website Design Services
For simple website design projects:
- You provide the content (text and images), I build the site
- Payment is required before website files are delivered
- Hosting and domain registration are your responsibility (I can guide you)
- Revisions: 2 rounds of minor changes included
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa.
12. Changes to Terms
I reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of my services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
